Multe referinte la exploratorii care au plecat sa fondeze "Nouvelle France" - statuia lui Jacques Cartier, Place du Canada. Apus de soare memorabil cu vedere spre insula pe care se afla mormintul lui Chateaubriand.
Lots of landmarks referring to explorers that went and claimed what now is Canada for France (La Nouvelle France).
Jacques Cartier has his own statue on the promontory offering the incredible view from the top of the fortified city of Saint-Malo. One fantastic sunset over the Atlantic Ocean with a view to the island that hosts Chateaubriand's tomb. 
Toate fotografiile care urmeaza sint facute la mai mult de 1 ora dupa apusul soarelui. Piscina naturala care se umple la flux confundindu-se cu apa oceanului si ramine parca suspendata in aer la retragerea apei. Peisaj numai bun de pus pe coperta unui LP ca-n vremurile bune ("Yes Stories" genre). Memorabil la superlativ.
All photos in this section are taken more than an hour past sunset. Natural swimming pool gets filled in and covered by ocean water at high tide, then remains almost suspended in half air once the water retreats.
Out of this world landscape perfect candidate for a good old times LP cover - how about "Yes Stories" for instance - I'll be in touch with Mr. Wakeman or Anderson to suggest just that. Expecting a Will Ferrell-type response: "Hurry up and wait".
All in all absolutely magic and definitely memorable.
"Intra-muros" e partea din interiorul zidurilor de fortificatie si singura interesanta dpdv turistic. Pe strazile care coboara spre apa aduce un pic cu Vieux Montreal.
"
Intra-muros" defines the area contained within the fortified walls of the city which happens to be the only one interesting from a tourist point of view. Streets on the way down to the water got a bit of Old Montreal feeling.
Plin de terase care in octombrie sint incalzite, cele 2 probate - Cafe Coeur de Lion si Cafe de Saint-Malo cu oysters, deserturi decadente gen nougat glace acompaniate de Calvados ma opresc aici cu descrierile gastronomice. Franta mur a mur no.1 la capitolul asta absolut peste tot pe unde am fost. Nu e o surpriza de loc, e doar o constatare.
Lots of outdoor dining, heated terraces very appropriate for colder October nights, the two that we had tried out and thoroughly enjoyed - Cafe Coeur de Lion and Cafe de Saint-Malo - offer excellent seafood of which oysters really stand out while desserts such as Nougat Glacé are to die for and Calvados seems to be the perfect marriage for ending up a feast that you will remember. Talking about dining, France tops my list so far, while not a surprise at all, it really needs to be mentioned in case you care about these things while on vacation.
La doi pasi de condus de Saint-Malo, foarte placut de facut o plimbare prin zona veche si la "Belvedere-ul" local. Feeling-ul de vacanta fara griji a adus cu el un oarecare dezinteres la capitolul istorie si alte chestii stiintifice cel putin prin zona asta. Cum bine zice amicul Anthony Bourdain, astea cu istoria si pietrele le vezi pe Discovery Chanel oricind, feeling-ul personal nu-l inlocuieste nimic pe lumea asta.
A very short drive from Saint-Malo, Dinan makes out for a great stroll along the old part of town with traditional houses, as well as the local "Belvedere". Totally ignored anything related to history, arts or other stuff requiring any distraction from the sheer enjoyment of letting lose pleasure of discovering and experiencing the city without any introduction. As Anthony Bourdain, one of my favorite travellers would say "If I wanted to find out about all details concerning every single stone and archeological remains I would turn to the Discovery Channel", nothing beats personal feeling on your own vacation regardless of what's on the must see or must do or must learn list in one place or another.
