Croatia: Hvar Fortress

I did venture climbing up close to the fortress around 1 :00pm and that’s quite a challenge due to very hot weather, just make sure you get a bottle of water with you on the way up; took some great pictures from up there to beautiful Hvar town and marina. Same along the way up featuring cactuses in bloom, orange trees, bougainvilla, palm trees and tons of agave plants.

Took the same direction climbing up to the fortress at sunset, while planning to stop and have dinner at a traditional croatian style « konoba » restaurant, recommended by Lonely Planet guidebook and nicely located on the hill above town. Unfortunately, the terasse where we did intend to have dinner was extremely hot since surrounded by walls, AC indoors didn’t appeal to us so that we ended up at the extremely popular terasse at Marinero and enjoyed thoroughly the seaplatter accompanied by the less enjoyable housewine, however a great experience overall. Everything very very fresh and good friendly service within a very enjoyable environment.
